Wayne F. Casper, 76, of 303 St. Paul St., Kiel died Wednesday morning January 24, 2018 at Willowdale Nursing and Rehab Center where he was a resident for the past 10 years. He was born September 3, 1941 in the town of Liberty, the son of the late Sylvester & Ruth (Schreiber) Casper. He attended Elder Grove and St. Gregory grade schools, graduating from St. Gregory High School in St. Nazianz in 1959. He was employed at Stoelting Inc. for 26 years retiring in 1991 due to suffering a stroke at the age of 49. Wayne loved life, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apple of his eye. For many years he was involved in coaching Little League and was a WIAA baseball umpire. He also was an active bowler. Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy, three children; Julie (Darryl) Schaefer, Kiel, Stephen (Nancy) Casper, New Holstein, Amy (Mark) Adams, Shawano, six grandchildren: Jeremiah (Amy) Schaefer, Leigha, Lindsey, Elleigh, and Kaison Casper, and Dane Adams; two great-grandchildren; Olivia and Ethan Schaefer. Wayne is further survived by his brothers and sisters; Donald (Donna) Casper, Kiel, Judy Peter, Elkhart Lake, Rachel Becker, Kiel, Jane (Ronald) Binversie, Cleveland, Tom Casper & partner Ryan Cousins, Australia, Mary (Dennis) Dedering, Kiel, Paul (Sue) Casper, Kiel, Ann (Greg) Behr, New Holstein, sister-in-law; Betty Casper, Kiel & brother-in-law; Paul Meyer, St. Nazianz, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dr. Jeffrey (Terri) Stier, California, Paul (Marilyn) Stier, West Bend, Dr. Kenneth (Julie) Stier, Whitefish Bay, Carol (Richard) Jens, Kiel, Dale and Carol Stier, Kiel, Donald (Andrea) Stier, Kiel, many nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant granddaughter, Peanut, brothers; Kenneth & Joseph Casper, sister; Kathryn Meyer, brothers-in-law; Dennis Peter & Gary Becker, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leslie and Grace Stier, and sister-in-law, Sandy Stier. Funeral Mass for Wayne will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church (413 Fremont St. Kiel). The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 1:00pm until 5:00 pm at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home (815 6th St, Kiel). The visitation will continue Monday at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. When we will have family rites before the procession to church. A special thank you to Willowdale Nursing Home for their special care of Wayne over the past several years as well as Heartland Hospice for making Wayne comfortable in his last days.
