Roy A. Phillips passed away March 30, 2015. His funeral service was held Friday, April 3, 2015 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 1:00 pm. Interment with military honors, Carolina Memorial Park. The family received friends Thursday from 6:oo to 7:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Champel.

Roy was born September 4, 1923, in Essex, New York, son of the late Marshall D. Phillips, Jr., and the late Maud James Phillips. He was a WWII veteran, retired from Charleston County Public Works, was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion, and a life member of VFW Post 3142.

He is survived by his wife Mary E. Phillips, Goose Creek, SC; son Larry Phillips of California; four stepchildren: Roger Howard (Suzie) of Arizona, Al Howard (Kelli) of Hanahan, SC, Sylvia Howard Hawkins (Larry) and Emily Howard Smith (Ron) all of Ladson, SC; two granddaughters; seven grandsons; three great-grandsons; one brother, Clarence Phillips and one sister, Virginia Cross.

Roy was predeceased by three sisters and one brother.
