Mrs. Rachael Jane Bryant Hodges, age 81, of Dobson, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at her residence. She was born, November 2, 1936 in Surry County to the late Troy Hubert Bryant and the late Alpha Jane Simmons Bryant. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith, and a lifelong farmer and homemaker. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Pless Hodges Jr, of the home; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery Lynn and Peggy Hodges; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; her sisters, Evelyn Vernon, Erma Paschall and Dot Doris Atkinson . In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Alton Pless Hodges; her sister, Agnes Clark, and her brother, Lemuel Clyde Bryant. Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. The funeral will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church with Brother Avery Branch officiating Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hodges will lie in state at the church from 10:30-11:00 AM prior to the service.
