Long, Ryan Mitchell 6/26/1984 - 1/20/2018 Jackson, MI On Saturday, January 20, 2018 the world lost an amazing man, Ryan Mitchell Long, age 33, and heaven gained an angel. Many hearts are broken and will have a missing piece until reunited in heaven again. Ryan never knew a stranger, he could strike up a conversation with anyone and by the time they finished he had gained another friend. Our Ryan was one big, bright blue eyed, goofy teddy bear that loved his family beyond measure. One of his passions was cooking, which he excelled at. Everyone wanted to be with Ryan when he was cooking. Whenever he found some spare time you could find him fishing at grandma and grandpa Long's. Their stories of time together are priceless. Ryan loved working construction with his dad. Ryan and Dennis worked together like two peas in a pod creating both great work and even better memories. Ryan was a momma's boy and his great big heart made her smile all day long. But when it comes to devotion and extraordinary love, Ryan found that with his niece and nephew, Kolee and Bryce. The devotion was both mutual and timeless. When Uncle Ryan walked through the door those faces started to glow and the fun and games would begin. Ryan Mitchell Long is survived by parents, Janet (Tom) Pennington, Dennis (Marla) Long, sister Rachel (Branden) Long, bother Nicholas Romwalter and step-siblings, Nathan and Hunter Pennington, Andy (Jennifer) Irwin, Alex and Alyssa Colby. Grandparents Cleedis and Avadine Long, beloved niece Kolee and nephew Bryce Sajdak, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to list. Preceded in death by grandparents Robert and Sophie Hengesbaugh. A funeral service to honor the life of Ryan Mitchell Long will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home in Jackson on Friday, January 26, 2018 beginning at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Jerry Cox officiating. Private interment will take place in the Maxon Cemetery in Leoni Township. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday January 26th from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given for a college fund for Bryce and Kolee Sajdak. Please visit www.hamptonfuneralhomes.com to sign the guestbook and/or send a condolence to the family.
