In 1967, they purchased Cushman and Johnson Well Drilling from Jack’s parents, changing the name to Jack Cushman Drilling & Pump Co. They worked hard side by side and the business prospered.

Edna enjoyed bowling, golfing, shopping, playing Bridge, and traveling. She and Jack purchased race horses and spent several years traveling to different parts of the country to the races. Another favorite pastime was her weekly hair day with Eva Mae Bowman.
