Diana "Dee" L. Morris, 64, of Stafford passed away January 12 at Stafford Hospital with her loving family by her side, after a short battle with breast cancer.
Dee graduated in 1971 from Ware High School in Ware, MA and attended Susquehanna University. Dee moved to Washington D.C. in the mid 1970's and began her 35 year career with the government, starting at the U.S. Treasury Department. She met her beloved husband Glenn in 1980 in Alexandria, VA. They were married in 1980 in Ware, MA. In 1983, she transferred to the U.S. Customs Service, working as a program analyst. She retired from the U.S. Customs Service in 2010. Dee received her passion of music from her father who was a music major and organist. She was skilled in six instruments, primarily the piano and organ. In addition to her passion for music, her greatest joy in life was being a devoted wife and mother. She mostly enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening, playing games, being a dog mom, and cooking. Whether hosting gatherings at the house, talking to neighbors in the neighborhood streets, or traveling, her infectious laugh, beautiful smile, and humor radiated to all. She will be most remembered for her kindness and selflessness towards everyone she encountered.
Dee is survived by her husband of 37 years, Glenn Morris, daughter Kristina Morris Jones (Brad), step-daughter Karin Morris Coogen (John) and step-son Glenn Russell Morris, Jr. (Michelle). She is also survived by her brother Craig Simmons (Jennie), best friend Estelle Mondor (Jimmy), seven grandchildren and a great grandchild.
The family would like to extend its deepest appreciation for the loving care and support provided by the Stafford Hospital doctors, nurses and Hospice.
