Bobby Lee Overton, 77, husband of Barbara Lee Tollison Overton for 54 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
Mr. Overton was born in Apex, Ky to the late James Vainey Overton and Annie Hazel Grace Overton. He retired from Milliken (where he was known as (Cowboy) and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bobby enjoyed boating, western movies, horses and tinkering on cars. His greatest love was being Papa to his grandkids.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Wesley Overton and partner Jerry Wigger; a daughter, Dana Patterson and husband Chad; a sister, Hellen Horton; and seven grandchildren, Chloe, Fisher, Josiah, Noah, Jeremiah, Titus and Geneva Grace Patterson. He was predeceased by three brothers, Ray, Durwood and Dale Overton; a sister Essie Tucker; and a grandson, Grant Patterson.
Funeral services will be 3 pm Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Fountain Inn City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-3 pm at the church.
