Sherri Ann Harrison, 47, of Leavenworth, Kansas and formerly of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 10:54 AM Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Mike Crosby will officiate. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery in rural Hannibal, MO.

Friends and Family are invited to Sherri’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Sherri was born April 12, 1970, in Hannibal, MO to Dennis Harrison and Joan Smith Harrison O'Brien.

Sherri was previously married to Todd Bielefeld of Wichita, Kansas, from 1994 to 2000.

Survivors include her parents, Dennis Harrison (Jane), Joan O’Brien, (Dick), brother Dennis "Butch" Harrison, and nieces and nephew, Brittany, Hallie, and Kale Harrison, and her special love Stephen Campbell and his son Brendan. She is also survived by 1 step sister, Brenda Wessels (Kelly) and their daughter, Kelsey and 1 step brother, Brian Whaley (Stephanie) and their 2 children, Kaitlyn and Devin.

Sherri is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother and grandfather, Halley and Arthur Smith, her paternal grandfather, Charles Ben Harrison, and paternal grandmother and step grandfather Ruth and Sam Lomax.

Sherri grew up in Hannibal and graduated from Hannibal High School in 1988.

She went on to nursing school at Hannibal LaGrange University and graduated with an Associates Degree in Nursing. Sherri began her career in nursing at Boone Hospital’s oncology unit in Columbia, Missouri. She continued her education to achieve her Bachelors Degree.

Sherri worked for the Visiting Nurses Association in Columbia after leaving Boone Hospital, from 1994 to 1996.

She worked for BCBS of Kansas in Topeka, Kansas, as a Prior Authorization Nurse for Kansas Medicaid, from 1996 to 2000.

Sherri worked for Medtronic as a MiniMed Insulin Pump liaison and educator for the entire state of Kansas.

She continued her career at Olathe Medical Center working in diabetes education. Sherri was diagnosed at the age of 12 with diabetes and this led her to become a strong voice for diabetes education as a Certified Diabetes Educator.

In August 2014, Sherri was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Sherri had chemotherapy, radiation, and a double mastectomy. She was cancer free for one year and five months. In 2015, metastasis was found in Sherri, at which time she began a courageous battle and fought hard until her last day on this earth.

Away from work Sherri loved to travel. Favorite trips included Ireland, Germany, The Galapagos Islands and Hawaii. Sherri also enjoyed antiques with a special interest in painted china. A collector of sorts, Sherri enjoyed collecting bird figurines and trinkets as well as Mark Twain memorabilia. A gifted singer, Sherri loved to listen to worship music and the 1980’s pop music of her youth. Time shared with her pets, especially her dog, “Riffie” were always special.
A spiritual person, strong in faith, Sherri enjoyed attending church at The Westside Family Church of Lenexa, Kansas. Sherri also enjoyed reading about faith and religion as well as attending Bible study groups.
Sherri was most passionate about her family and friends and her career working in diabetes education.
