Her birth date is from a list compiled by her sister Lydia Rush. Lucinda married James Lanning Jr. on 3 Sept. 1865 in Perry Co., Ohio. According to the late Ethel Albin in her Lanning genealogy, James died in Oct. of 1880 in Hocking Co., OH. The Harry Rush Speer Rush/Skinner genealogy, which in the the genealogy collection of the Perry Co. Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society in New Lexington, OH, says that she died prior to 1921. He also has her listed as "Lucydania," which has me wondering if she went by "Lucy" and someone providing him with information couldn't think of "Lucinda."
The 1880 census has their children living with other families. Lucinda might have re-married after James died or before he died, if there was a divorce. I couldn't find them in the 1870 or 1880 census.

2.) Almeda Lanning b. about 1868 in OH. In the 1880 census she was living in the Monday Creek Twp., Perry Co. home of James & Hester Phelps. The census referred to her as having been "adopted," which may or may not be correct. She married Jacob Hammond on 17 April 1884 in Hocking Co., which might mean that her mother Lucinda was living in Hocking Co. at that time. After Jacob died, Almeda married John McGomery on 21 July 1904 in Perry Co. Findagrave.com 157929614.
3.) Lydia A. Lanning b. about 1869 OH.
4.) Catharine Lanning b. about 1871 OH was listed as an orphan in the 1880 census, Falls Gore Twp., Hocking Co. in the home of George & Nancy Trowbridge.
5.)Nancy Idella Lanning b. 18 May 1874 Perry Co., OH. In the 1880 Coal, Perry Co., OH census she was living with John J. & Eliza A. Dennis.
