Janice Olene Walton Yates, 85, of Bossier City, LA passed away on January 18, 2018. Janice was born January 27, 1932 in Vivian, LA. She traveled the United States and England with six children following her husband, who was in the United States Air Force. She was the ultimate military wife taking care of the family’s needs, ready to move anytime, and always dedicated to her husband. She was very supportive of her children who she loved dearly. She was active in church activities, helping young military personnel and their families with their needs, she volunteered with Agape of Memphis, TN and always was always cooking for the sick, bereaved, and on joyous occasions as well. She put her family first but made time to help others whenever there was a need.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Avington and Ruth Walton, her two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her husband Charles C. Yates of Bossier City, LA, her children; Laura DeHabermann and husband Dink of Bossier City, LA, Jenny Russell of Rockwall, TX, Charles Yates Jr. of Magnolia, TX, Timothy Yates of Memphis, TN, Marie Jones and husband Kent of Romance, AR, and Ramona Yates of Nashville, TN. She is also survived by ten adoring grandchildren, Jennifer, Angela, Heather, Amber, Rusty, Chad, Tara, Tess, Marsha, and Janice and 23 precious great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the church Mission Program of Carriage Oaks Church of Christ, where she was a member, address, 5661 Shed Rd. Bossier City, LA 71111.

There will be a private family service at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian and burial at the Walton Family Cemetery.
