Freeman L. Jones, 68, died Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Kansas Medical Center in Andover.

He was born Oct. 3, 1938, to Art and Faye Athey Jones in Crowell, Texas.

He married Carol Ely in 1956 in Richfield.

He then married Lou Allen in 1969.

He later married Jane Mobley in 1986 in Branson, Mo. She survives.

He graduated from Rolla High School and attended Sterling College, where he played football.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was also a fireman in California for several years and farmed in Missouri for 16 years. He worked at the Liberal Post Office for one year after moving there in 1987. He was an agent for American Family Insurance several years, later owning the Freeman Jones Agency to present.

He is also survived by three sons, Joe Jones and wife, Whymia, Bullhead City, Ariz., Mike Jones and Chris Jones and wife, Tammy, Nevada, Mo.; one daughter, Carmella Mayle and husband, Tony, Henderson, Nev.; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Jones and wife, Theresa, Inola, Okla., and Ross Jones and wife, Debbie, Muskogee, Okla.; and four sisters, Janice Carter and husband, Neel, Miami, Texas, Sharon Carpenter and husband, David, Lowell, Ark., Linda Johnson and husband, Don, Canadian, Texas, and Pat Bell and husband, Doug, Moscow.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

* Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rolla Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Bradford presiding. Military Honors will be by Vance Air Force Honor Guard.
