Jackie Lee Evans, Sr.
Of Earling, WV
Jackie Lee Evans, Sr., 67, of Earling, departed this life on January 23, 2018, at Select Specialty Hospital at Charleston, after a long illness.
He was born May 4, 1950, at Accoville, a son of the late Printess and Dora Virginia Smith Evans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer LeAnn Evans; and three brothers, Norman Wilson "Bud" Evans, Ricky Lynn Evans, and Billy Ray Evans.
Jackie was an underground coal miner for 42 years. He was a member of the UMWA District 17. Jackie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going on vacation. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Katherine Ann Poston Evans; three sons, Jackie Lee (Jean Ann) Evans, Jr. of Rita, Ivan Richard Evans of Chapmanville, and Randy Shawn (Maggie) Evans of Christian; a special niece who is like a daughter, Amanda Lynn (Jason) Walls of Earling; grandchildren, Jackie Evans, III, Mark Jared Evans, Matthew James Evans, Kassondra Renea Evans, Shaina Danielle (Paul) Cantrell, Kyle Richard Evans, Dakota Ryan Evans, Jennifer Evonne Evans, Ivan Richard Evans, Jr., Madison Diane Evans and D.J. Browning; great-grandchildren, Riley Christian Evans, Skyler Jade Evans, Carter Luke Thompson, Shayanna Faith Evans, and twins, Bentley David Evans and Brantley Paul Evans; five sisters and two brothers; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2018, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Roger Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be his grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
