Lucinda Ann "Cindy" JONES (07/25/1942 - 01/20/2018)

JONES, Lucinda Ann "Cindy" (Age 75) Longtime Colfax, WA resident, passed away Jan. 20, 2018 at the City View Adult Family Home in Colfax. Cindy was born July 25, 1942 in Seattle, WA to Richard and Elizabeth (Richards) Cruver. As a little girl, Cindy grew up in Seattle, WA and San Diego, CA before the family settled in Anchorage, Alaska where she received her education including a fifth grade classroom in a Quonset hut and junior high years in Spenard, a suburb of Anchorage. Cindy was involved with the YMCA during her teenage years as they sponsored many youth activities. She even became a counselor in their summer camp and had a lot of experience with kids. Having two younger brothers and enduring their hi-jinx was good training.

Following graduation from high school in Anchorage, Cindy attended Linfield College in McMinnville, OR where she received her Bachelors Degree in Biology. It was here that she met Larry Allan Jones and they were married on June 4, 1964 in Seattle. They honeymooned in Hawaii and started real life in Colfax. Their first home was a little one bedroom house on South Mill Street. As her family grew in size, she designed their home on Riverside Lane which was completed in 1976. Larry's love of travel and Cindy's love for the outdoors kept their young family busy exploring the Pacific Northwest which eventually led them to discovering their future cabin retreat to Priest Lake to enjoy family time together. She loved visiting Hawaii with her family.

Cindy was a loving wife, proud mother, grateful grandmother and homemaker her entire life as well as an active community member. Cindy was a member and past secretary of the Whitman Hospital Auxiliary, Colfax Preceptor of Beta Sigma Phi, Peace Lutheran Church, former Colfax School Board Director and former secretary at Jones Truck & Implement.

She is survived by her five children: Krista (Jody) Boyd, Eric (Robin) Jones, Casey (Kelley) Jones all of Colfax, Kelly (Emily) Jones of Santa Barbara, CA. and Julie (Lee) Stilson of Colfax; 14 grandchildren: Amber (Weston) Sellars of Colfax, Alexandra Boyd of Colfax, Reginald Jones of Cheney, Christopher, Riane, Ella, Grace, Jack, Ike and Cruver Jones all of Colfax, Led and Katy Jones both of Santa Barbara, and Abigail and Brady Stilson both of Colfax; Cindy also has three great-grandchildren: Emersyn, Everleigh and Lucy Sellars. Cindy is also survived by her two brothers, Richard Cruver both of Everett, WA and Mark Cruver of Eagle River, Alaska.

She was preceded in death by her husband Larry, her parents and a granddaughter, Audrey, in 2004.

Viewing will be held at Bruning Funeral Home on January 25th and 26th from 9 to 4 PM both days. The memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church in Colfax, WA.
