Mrs. Erna E. Benz, 59, Appleton, a former resident of Fond du Lac, died Saturday morning at an Appleton hospital after a short illness.
Mrs. Benz was born June 11, 1908, in Wautoma, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Eichsteadt. She spent most of her childhood in Wautoma and Fond du Lac and lived in Appleton for the past 30 years. Mrs. Benz worked for Sentry Insurance Co. there and was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church and a member and past president of the Ladies Aid Society.
Surviving are three sons, Paul of Sheboygan, Jon, of Kimberly and Fred, of Appleton; two sisters, Mrs. Tena Keup and Mrs. Tillie Lichtenberg, both of Wautoma, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Church with Rev. R. E. Ziesemer officiating. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin funeral Home from 2 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Tuesday when the body will be taken to church and lie in state until time of services. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Appleton.
