ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida - Debra Murphy died on December 5, 2017.

Debra was my wife and best friend for almost 37 years, and together we spent our married life helping people learn about Jehovah God and the wonderful promises in his Word, the Bible. As Jehovah's Witnesses this work took us all over the States and to places like Costa Rica and Ireland. No matter where we went, Debra's warm heart and generous spirit endeared her to many. The Bible says that death is our enemy (1Cor.15:26), but Debra did not fear this enemy because she was convinced that what the Bible taught about the resurrection hope was true: That one day she would awake and be reunited with all her loved ones on a paradise Earth.

Debra is survived by her husband, John Murphy; her beloved sister, Melanie Gehrke; her brother, Mike Gehrke; and his son, Josh. She is also survived by her spiritual family that stretches around the Earth and are far too many to number.

Her fight with that terrible disease, cancer, is over now, and I draw great comfort in knowing that she is safe in Jehovah God's memory. Now although we will all miss her deeply, Debra would not want us to grieve excessively, but do what we can to draw close to her God, Jehovah, and thus be there to greet, hug, and kiss her with tears of joy when she is resurrected onto that paradise Earth promised in the Bible. (Rev.21:3,4) So goodbye for now, my love. I will see you soon. John
