Sherman L. Andis, age 68, of Linton, formerly of Mission, Texas, passed away on Sunday evening, Jan. 21, 2018, surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born in Washington on May 5, 1949, the son of Dwight and Helen (Lynn) Andis.
Sherman was a 1967 graduate of Switz City Central High School. He served our country as a Seabee in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as a construction contractor for many years before his retirement.
He is survived by his three sons, Chad (Lisa) Booher of Linton, Christopher Andis of Pharr, Texas, and Jamar (Chandra) Andis of Terre Haute; a daughter, Jessica (Jon) Andis-Cunningham of Edinburg, Texas; a brother, Gary Andis of Hillsdale; a sister, Terri Davison of Bloomfield; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family arrangements are being held with Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
