Guymon, Oklahoma - Former Texas County Treasurer, Anne L. Scott, passed away January 20, 2018 at Dunaway Manor/Heritage Community.

The daughter of Elmer and Mable (Ward) Brawner, she was born December 19, 1930 in Reed Springs, Missouri. When she was 6 months old, she with her parents moved to Kingman, Kansas. She attended grade school in Kingman. In 1942, she moved with her parents to Hutchinson, Kansas. Anne graduated from Hutchinson high school with the class of 1948. She was employed with the Hutchinson State Bank.

She met and married John Scott, a Guymonite, while he was attending business college in Hutchinson. They married Saturday, October 22, 1949. In Hutchinson, Kansas. In 1951, John and Anne moved to Guymon, Okla. where John was farming and she was employed as a bookkeeper with the Tri State Super Market. In 1974 when Mr. Haynes closed the Tri State Super Market, she worked for the county. In the Texas County Court Clerks office, she worked first under Zora Ramey and then, Twila Fenton.

In 1987 she was elected Texas County Treasurer. She held this office from 1987 -1995 when she retired.

Anne was past member of several clubs, Entre Nous club, Professional Business Women's club, Legal Secretaries (secretary of the year in 1986,) FCE Happy Neighbors, Spades club and 42 club.

She was member of the Victory Memorial United Methodist church and past treasurer of WMU.

Survivors include her two sons, Philip Scott and wife Della and Terry Scott; two granddaughters Jennifer Anne Scott and Kristine Renee Scott, all of Guymon; sister Juanita Thommes and husband Jerry of Tucson, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Irene Brawner of Hutchinson, Kansas, Patricia Pearcy of Seattle, WA; and many other nieces, nephews and relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John Scott, brother Luke Brawner, brothers and sisters in law: Claud and Mary Lou Mitchusson, Robert and Joann Scott, Charlie Pearcy, and special Aunt Annie Hopkins.

Friends may come by the Henson-Novak Funeral Home, 501 NW Fifth Street, Guymon, to view and sign the book on Tuesday, 2-8:00PM.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, January 24th, 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 2201 North Lelia, Guymon with Rev. Michael Carter and Rev. Tom Hugghins, officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Guymon FFA Chapter, which the Scott family have been supporters for many years, or a charity of your choice, c/o Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O. Box 1306, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
