In the 1940 census of Greenfield, Mass. Wilfred was living with his wife, Ella, who was born about 1904 in Vermont. Five years earlier he reportedly lived at North Brookfield, Mass. and she resided in Pawlet, Vermont.
By the 1950 census Wilfred had married his wife, Mabel.
Mr. France's obituary was printed in The Springfield Union [Springfield, MA] on December 3, 1957. It mentions he had resided in Greenfield for his last twenty years. Before that he lived in Phillipston when his father was the pastor of the Phillipston Congregational Church. Wilfred was employed by the Boston & Maine Railroad for 41 years. He left behind his wife, five stepchildren, a sister and a brother.
