"Betty Jeane Dowdle, age 88 died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Trinity Healthcare Center in Columbus. Services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel 2nd Ave N. Chapel with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating, burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dowdle was born on Sunday, October 06, 1929 in Crystal Springs, MS to the late Clifton Milton and Twila Mae Weeks. Mrs. Dowdle was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Columbus, and the Junior Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Crystal Springs High School, and Mississippi College with a degree in English Education. She was also a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX with a degree in Christian Education. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Nathan Dowdle, her daughter, Alma Conner and son-in law Joe, and her grandson, John Powell Conner.
