The family of Henry Asher Blair will receive guests during a visitation to be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Hilliard Funeral Home. Services for Asher will follow at 11:00 a.m., ending with a brief graveside service at Jamestown Cemetery.
Henry Asher Blair was born October 9, 2017 at his home in Ben Wheeler. He went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2018 at the tender age of 3 and a half months. Baby Asher was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lynn Blair; uncle, John Dickison; and cousin, Levi Blair.
Survivors include his loving parents, Jordan & Erin Blair of Ben Wheeler; big brother, Judah Rey Blair of Ben Wheeler; grandparents, Greg & Tracy Frederick of Kansas, and Janis "Cookie" Blair of Ben Wheeler; great-grandparents, Gayle & Geneal Frederick and Eula Mae Hasley, all of Oklahoma; aunts & uncles, Saul & Andrea Blair of Mont Belvieu, Bonnie Blair of Arlington, and Dinah & Brian Dixon of Arkansas; cousins, Lauren & Jonathan Stockstill, Brandon Dickison, Canaan Dickison, Kristen Dickison, Kemplin Dickison, Zion Blair and Avva Blair; and a host of loving friends.
From the day Asher was born in the comfort of his own home, he established his presence as a pleasant, contented baby. Rarely fussy, and always happy to be held, cuddled, and sung to, Baby Asher was easily consoled in the arms of his loved ones. Asher’s short life was truly a happy one. He never had to suffer through a bad day, so ubiquitous to the rest of humanity. He was a sweet and good baby, easily intrigued as his alert eyes watched the world around him, especially his big brother. His joyful smiles indicated what no doubt were the seeds of deep love for his family. He was eager to take part in the life happening around him, frequently demonstrating burgeoning physical strength and robust health. His loved ones will remember forever the unique sound of his voice, deeper than that of most babies, raspy, and precious, and all his own.
Far too short, Henry Asher’s life was powerful nonetheless. Without ever saying a word or performing great deeds, he has left an indelible legacy of innocence, love, and joy for his adoring family to cherish in the days ahead. Although his face was so like his earthly father’s, Asher’s soul was made in the image of his Heavenly Father, the “Father of lights,” from Whom all good and perfect gifts come (James 1:17), the Father into Whose care Baby Asher has entered.
