Ruth Ellen Norton, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in Charleston. She was born May 15, 1953 in Fresno, California to the late Albert McConnell and Suvella May (Rollins) McConnell. She was 60 years old. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Shelia Norton; one sister, Mickey Denney; and two brothers, Walter McConnell and Dale McConnell.

Ruth was a nurse and a retired bartender at Mitch's Place in Carbon City.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 20th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris. The body will be cremated following the service. Officiating the service will be Rev. Bill Van Meter.

She is survived by her companion of 15 years, Ed Storey of Charleston; three daughters, Tammy Phillips and husband Nathan of Josephine, Texas, Cindy Boone and husband Brad of Sweetwater, Texas, and Michelle Ayers of Bonham, Texas; one son, Kelly Joe Norton and wife Angela of Paris; five sisters, Mary Hopkins of Russellville, Sue Peel and Phyllis Roach, both of Dardanelle, Cleora Coulter of Copeville, Texas, and Brenda Ramsey of Paris; three brothers, Charlie McConnell, Herschel McConnell, and Bill McConnell, all of Delaware; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Phillips, Nathan Phillips Shane Storey, Kody Norton, and Mitchell Ford.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home in Paris.
