Eldon graduated from Stephenson High School and Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree in dairy science.
On December 27, 1969 he married Carolyn Gayon at the Stephenson United Methodist Church.
Eldon worked for MSU as Extension Director in Luce and Barry County, then as Field Representative for Frigo Cheese Company before changing careers and becoming an over the road truck driver.
In his youth Eldon was an active 4-H member, he also enjoyed going to camp, watching NASCAR, football and all MSU sports.
Eldon is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Daggett, MI;
three sons: Steven (Janine) of Kewaunee, WI; Kevin (Pamela) of Menominee, MI and Major Jason (Kristine) of Omaha, Neb.;
nine grandchildren: Drew, Devin, Nathan, Grace, Emily, Zachary, Jason, Simon and Briley;
his brother, Dennis Bowers;
sister, Susan Berg; many nieces and nephews and special friend, Ray Senger. Eldon is also survived by Carolyn's siblings: Darlene Gayon, Dar (Jack) Thielke, Karen Gayon, Kathy Gayon, Don (Donna) Gayon, Jean (Tim Phillips) Gayon, Connie (Gilbert) Anderson, and Kathy (Garth) Newlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers-in-law: Gerald Berg, Francis Gayon, Raymond Gayon, and Floyd Gayon; sister-in-law, Susan Maus; and two nephews: Steven Berg and Shawn Christopherson.
Visitation for Eldon will be on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Anderson-Diehm Funeral Home beginning at 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 6:00 p.m0 with Roy Berto officiating. Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery in the spring.
