A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Maude Garner McCracken. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Moody Onville Farmer who died in 1974 and two brothers, Jack and Eugene McCracken.
She loved to cook and was a member of the Home Demonstration Club of Haywood County and a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesville.
She is survived by three sons, Joe of Waynesville, Johnny and his wife Kim, of El Rancho, Calif., and Jerry Farmer and his wife Maxine, of Waynesville; one brother, Hugh McCracken and his wife Chuck of Texas City, Texas; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Robert Prince officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
