Actress. A sultry blonde, blue-eyed glamour girl of the 1940s, she appeared in over 40 films during that era. Born Marilyn Llewelling, she was one of 13 women selected in 1940 by the Motion Picture Publicists Association as a "Baby Star", a selection process which was meant to highlight the most promising new film stars. She made most of her films in the 1940s, including 22 for Republic Pictures (of which 16 were Don "Red" Barry B-type westerns) and 17 for Columbia Pictures. Her first film was an uncredited appearance in "'Til We Meet Again" (1940). She then went on to star in "Dr. Christian Meets the Women" (1940), "Flight Angels" (1940), "Ragtime Cowboy Joe" (1940), "The Gay Vagabond" (1941), "The Apache Kid" (1941), "Jesse James, Jr." (1942), "Dead Man's Gulch" (1943), "Days of Old Cheyenne" (1943), "Meet Miss Bobby Socks" (1944), "A Guy, A Gal and a Pal" (1945), "Down to Earth" (1947), "Dangerous Business" (1946), and "I Love Trouble" (1948), among others. Her final film was "Escape from Terror" (1955, with Jackie Coogan) after which she retired from acting and worked in the fashion industry and served as an executive field director for the Barbizon School of Modeling from 1967 to 1974. In later years she worked in sales at department stores in both California and Florida. She was married to actor Conrad Nagel (1945 to 1948) and then to producer Robert Goelet, Jr (1949 to 1956). She died at her home at the age of 87, after a long illness.
