HENRY, Lee Eugene (Age 52)

It is with great sadness and joy that we announce the passing of Lee Eugene Henry, 52, at his home in Spokane, WA. Lee was called Home on January 16th, 2018 after a five year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by abounding love and peace as he opened his eyes one last time to look at his wife before he passed. In the last few weeks of Lee's life, he was visited by many loved ones and created many cherished memories.

Born in Superior, WI, he lived there with his mother and two brothers until he was 11, when he moved to Cheney, WA. At Cheney High School, Lee played football, baseball and won many awards in FFA. After graduating high school in 1983, he went on to graduate from Eastern Washington University in 1996 with a BA in Business Administration.

Starting with his enlistment in the Marine Corps in 1986, then joining the Washington State Patrol in 1991, then with his 33 year career in the Air Force Reserves, Lee's life was dedicated to public service. In 2015, Lee was selected for the rank of Chief Master Sargent and was honorarily promoted to that rank in November 2017. For the last decade of Lee's life, he worked as a DoD contractor serving in Afghanistan and the U.S.
Lee was a natural leader, with many talents and gifts. He was passionate about his family, friends, military brothers and sisters, and traveling the world. He loved sharing and teaching whatever he learned with others. Those that knew Lee will attest to the everlasting effect he had on the lives of all he touched, developing many lifelong friendships.

A military service with full military honors will be on January 26th at 3:00pm at The Washington State Veteran's Cemetery, in Medical Lake, WA (21702, West Espanola Road, Medical Lake, WA 99022). Please dress appropriately.

A celebration of life, will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 11:00am, at Life Center, 1202 West Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224. This event is casual. Please wear your Lee Henry Farewell Tour t-shirts if you have one. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you donate to Summit Cancer Foundation www.summitcancerfoundation.org.
