Mr. Peter P. Cooper, of Millersburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday January 17, 2018, at the age of 67 years 0 months 22 days.

Peter, the son of Thomas A. and Mary Lou (Kinnamon) Cooper, was born in Pontiac, Michigan, on December 26, 1950. Fairly new to the area, Peter moved to Millersburg in 2017.

Pete spent many years living in Dansville where he worked for the Mason-Ingham County Road Commission. He later moved to Central Lake and was employed by the village as the public works supervisor.

Eventually Pete moved out west to Montana. He spent several years working in the maintenance department of Yellowstone National Park. It was a job that suited Pete well, as he loved the outdoors. Nearly every day he witnessed nature at its finest and loved seeing elk, bears, and other wildlife.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Pete hunted deer, birds, small game or whatever was in season. He loved fishing as well, spending countless hours on the lake with the hopes of fresh fish for dinner.

When he wasn’t hunting or fishing, Pete spent his time researching his heritage and family genealogy. Close with his sisters and brothers, Pete enjoyed spending time with family and loved family gatherings.

Surviving Pete are:
…four sisters,
……Linda (Rick) Aenis of Central Lake,
……Penny (Dave) Turner of Mayville,
……Pat Pitchford of Vanderbilt, and
……Polly Taskey of St. Helen;
…two brothers,
……Tom Cooper of Arizona and
……Jim (Pat) Cooper of Onaway;
…as well as many nieces and nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents.

Peter’s memory will be honored privately by his family.

Pete’s final resting place will be in Central Lake at Dunsmore Cemetery.
