Pearl V. Davis, age 96, of Strawberry Plains, gone from our lives on Thursday, January 18, 2018 but eternally alive in the presence of the God. She was a beautiful example of a loving Christian. Special to all who knew and loved her. She opened heart and home to those she loved and there were many.

Pearl was born in Sevierville, Tennessee on December 20, 1921 to Jesse Lewis and Nettie Cash Lewis. She was reared in Knoxville, Tennessee the eldest of seven children.

She married Milum Davis, a World War II Army Veteran in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1938. Later they located to Cleveland, Ohio where they lived for forty five years and reared their children, Milum Davis Jr. and Geraldine Davis Goode.

Pearl was a devoted member of West Side Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. She worked as a secretary/bookkeeper in her husbands’ family business but her great love was serving her family as a homemaker.

After the death of her husband, she returned to live in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee area to be near her son and family for the remainder of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milum Davis Sr; son, Milum Davis Jr.; daughter, Geraldine Goode; son-in-law, Denny Goode; parents, Jesse and Nettie Cash Lewis; sister, Lucille Ivey; brother, James Lewis; special niece, Joyce Lewis Lisowski; special sisters-in-law, Leona Lewis and Irene Lewis; and brother-in-law, Fred Owens.

She will be missed by brothers, Walter Lewis, Ben Lewis, Charles (Geneva) Lewis; sister, Mary Owens; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in Cleveland, Ohio and Tennessee.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Life Care Center of Jefferson City, who loving cared for Pearl in her final years and to Dr. Regina Fields for her compassionate care.

Graveside service 2:00 PM Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Roseberry Cemetery with Rev. J.W. Lusk officiating. Friends may call at their convenience Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning.
