Doris was born in Port Huron on April 15, 1924, to George and Grace (DesJardin) Robarts.
After completing college with a teaching certificate, she taught in numerous one room school houses in Huron County ranging in Preschool to 8th grade.
She married Dwight Jacobs on June 25, 1949, at the United Methodist Church in Bad Axe. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1996.
She enjoyed reading, crossword and word search puzzles, sewing, quilting, baking pies and being with her family. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing.
Doris is blessed with a loving family, including her children: Dennis Jacobs of Sand Point, Deanne (Michael) Schlusler of Lapeer, Durwin (Patty) Jacobs of Pigeon, and the late Durrell (survived by Donna Pietruck) Jacobs; grandchildren: Amy (Tim) Schmitt, Adam (Julia) Schulsler, Matthew (Jessica) Jacobs, Renee (Gary) Laleman, Aaron Jacobs and Jenny Jacobs; great grandchildren: Emmaline, Keegan, Kason, Josilynn, Jade, Makienna, Hope and Faith; and her late siblings: Gordon (Ruth) Robarts, Reva (survived by Willard) Wing and Omar (Joan) Robarts.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-8pm.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Rev. Cindy Parsons will be officiating.
Burial will take place after the luncheon at Grandlawn Cemetery in Pigeon.
Memorial donations may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church or Bay Shore Camp.
