Raymond C. Ferguson, 82, of East Syracuse passed away with his loving family at his side, after a brief illness.

He retired from Rollway Bearing, LiverpoolUAW Local 798, after 29 years of service. He received an honorable discharge from the ArmyNational Guard in 1958 and was a member of the American Legion. He was a loving father and grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family, going fishing (but not catching much), playing cards, bingo and building wood crafts for his grandchildren. His favorite phrase was his grandchildren “made it all worth it”.

He was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy in 2014 and his sister Beverly. He is survived by his children Debora, Raymond, Pamela (Paul) Moynihan, Mark (Laury) Ferguson, Lisa (Sean) Pierce, and Susan (Jason) Bracy. Brothers Charles (Shirley), Edward (Nancy) and Richard (Betty) and sister Carole. Grandchildren, Gary, Joseph and Tiffany Longden, Amy and Raymond, Jason (Kristy) Wallace, Tina (Shawn) Sweeney, Jessica, Sarah, Adam (Michelle) Groth, Brittany (Dan) Groth, Madison and Michael Pierce, Tyler and Evan Bracy. Great grandchildren, Summer and Joseph Longden, Meliko Telfer, Amanda, Eli and Lilianna Wallace, Teagan and Caoilinn Sweeney, Zachary Groth.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:15am in MATHEWSON-FORANI FUNERAL HOME, INC AND 11AM in St. Matthew's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7pm at the funeral home 206 KinneSt., East Syracuse, NY. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at St. Joseph's Hospital for the wonderful care of their father.
