Joni was born a twin on July 29, 1937 to Harold and Amy Erlandson. She graduated from the Central High School in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

On April 25, 1955 she married Robert Ellis, Sr. in LaCrosse. They lived in LaCrosse for a short time before moving to California and Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to Mabel in October of 1975 to help care for Robert’s parents.

Joni passed away in the arms of her daughter, Kathryn, on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin at the age of 80.

Joni is survived by her three children Deborah Williams of Banning, California, Kathryn (Pat) Hendricks of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Howard E. Ellis II of Mabel; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ellis, Sr.; a son Robert Ellis II, her parents, and her twin brother John Erlandson.
