SALTVILLE, Va. Clifton Wayne Armstrong, age 69, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018, in Baxley, Ga. Mr. Armstrong was born in Saltville, Va. to the late Marion Clifton and Myrtle Branson Armstrong. Wayne was a very loving person who loved his family. He spent many years on the road driving a truck, and was able to take his last trip home. He enjoyed being with his family, making jokes and scaring his kids and grandkids. Most of all he was at peace with God and his family. He is survived by his children, Tony Armstrong, Clifton Armstrong, Tim Armstrong, and Betty Jean Lorenzo; 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Nancy Casswell, Garland Anderson, Connie Warren, Ronnie Armstrong, Jimmy Armstrong, and Virginia Armstrong, several nieces, nephews; and other loving family to include Cole Reece, whom he thought of as a son. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday January 20, 2018, from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Pastor Paul Shallenburg officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Rich Valley with full military honors being rendered by the Francis Marion V.F.W. Post 4667. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.
