Mary Frances Shouse Potts, age 86, a resident of Fly Road in Santa Fe, passed away Friday morning, March 6, 2020 at NHC Columbia.

Funeral services for Mrs. Potts will be conducted Monday, March 9 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Adkisson and Reverend Ronnie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Potts Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday, March 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Robby Anderson, Austin Collier, Chris Webb, Mark Graves, Kahil Graves, Andrew Graves and Steve Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Jennifer Jeter, Emma Jeter, Anna Jeter, Becky Fitzgerald, Angie Jett, Diane Wilson and Denise Eatherly.

She was born October 17, 1933 in Maury County, daughter of the late James W. and Bessie Widmoyer Shouse, the wife of the late R.B. Potts and the last surviving member of 10 siblings. She worked in the bundle department of Edric Manufacturing. She was very feisty and hardworking, loved basketball, keeping her house spotless and loved homemade banana ice cream. She loved visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was known as Mee-Maw to her family. She was a member of Elmore Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her children: Judy (Ernie) Culberson, Guy Potts, Jeff Potts and Bobby (Tina) Potts, all of Santa Fe; grandchildren: Rhonda (Steve) Stewart, Jana (Mark) Graves, Robby (Bobbie) Anderson and Kristen Potts; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Thelma Oakley, Genevieve Hill, Pauline Andrews, Wilma Stanfill, Margaret Maxwell and Elizabeth Brunson; brothers: Van B. “Buster” Shouse, Fred Shouse and Raleigh Shouse.

The family would like to give special thanks to NHC Columbia and Caris Hospice for their care.
