John was born in Waterbury on Oct. 5, 1947, to the late Benordino “Benny” and Lena (Cialfi) Julian. He was a graduate of Croft High School and then entered in the United States military serving in the Navy SeaBees for two years, one of them being in Vietnam.
John has 51 years of federal service. After his services in the military, he received his associate’s degree from Mattatuck Community College. John started at the United States postal service as a clerk in 1968. He worked his remaining 49 years as a letter carrier for a total of 50 years with the Postal Service.
John was recently honored by the Connecticut Valley District of the U.S. Postal Service with a 50-year award and a two million mile award for accident-free work.
Besides his wife, Rosemary, John leaves behind his daughter, Katelyn Julian of Orlando, Fla.; and his three brothers, Thomas P. Julian and his wife, Lauren, of South Windsor, Ronald P. Julian of Waterbury, and Richard M. Julian of Avon; and his nieces and nephews.
