Darlene Faye Mallette Barton, 66, of Vanlceave, MS passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 in Mobile, AL. She was born June 9, 1951 in Pascagoula, MS to the late George and Lila Mallette. She had a passion for exercise and fitness, and won fitness competitions two years in a row. She loved working out with her sisters. She loved the water, especially sunset cruises on the river.
Along with her parents, Darlene is preceded in death by her brothers, George Errol Mallette and Brian David Mallette; in-laws, Bro. Bill and Jean Barton; and sister-in-law, Melody Ann Barton.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil Barton; daughter, Christy Suzanne (Nathan) Barber; son, Nicholas Adam (Jennifer) Barton; grandchildren, Noah Jordan Barber, Emma Claire Barber, Ladon Alabama Barton, and Arya Lynn Barton; siblings, Glenda Inabinette, Carolyn (Ken) Newman, Ronnie Mallette, Bobby (Debbie) Mallette, Marlene Ainsworth, and Tammy (Scott) Noble; brothers-in-law, Manly (Sarah) Barton, Billy (Shellene) Barton, and Michael (Julie) Barton; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Antioch Cemetery in Vancleave, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the Home of Grace in Vancleave, MS in memory of Mrs. Darlene Barton.
