Actor. Born in the Bronx, New York City, he was a student in law school when he started his acting career in the film "The Roman Slave" (1910), directed by D.W. Griffith. Signed to the Thanhouser Film Corporation Studio, he was a popular leading man in the silent era. His credits included "The Diamond from the Sky" (1915), "Pigue" (1916), "Eastward Ho!" (1919), "Shop with Fire" (1920) and "Leave It to Me" (1920). He was married to actress Helen Ferguson, later to actress Charlotte Burton and brother of director Albert Russell.
