Mr. Jarvis Omar Rush, 34, was born on Aug. 22, 1983, in Sumter to James and Naomi White. He attended the public schools of Sumter County. Mr. Rush was a soft spoken, quiet and humble man who would help anyone. He was very active in the community.

leaves to cherish his memories: a son, Kayden Harris; a stepdaughter, Aliyaa De'Zire Harris of Sumter; his parents, James and Naomi White; six brothers, William Washington, Johnnie Rush Jr., MaRland Rush, Marcus (Quanisha) Rush and Darvis White, all of Sumter, and James (Belinda) Rush of Charlotte; three sisters: Pamela (Junius) Jenkins III of Moncks Corner, Teresa Session of Charlotte and Robertha Rush of Sumter; three uncles and 11 aunts, all of Sumter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and a special friend, Reeneeka Harris.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Cole Washington Sr. and Daisy Wright Washington; paternal grandparents, James White Sr. and Bessie Smith-White; and five uncles: Franklin White Sr., Leon White, Junior Washington, Isaac Washington and Cole Washington Jr.

Funeral services : Westend Community Church, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, with Bishop Sylvester Francis III, officiating, and the Rev. Dr. Ralph W. Canty Sr., pastor, eulogist.

Interment : Hillside Memorial Park in Sumter.
