Patricia “Penny” Daugherty, 62, of Loami, passed away at 6:24 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at her home. Penny was born on March 11, 1955 in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of John and Lucretia “Spanky” (Shirley) Hall.

Penny graduated from Jacksonville High School. She was a social person who enjoyed talking on the phone and spending time with her friends and family. Penny spent the majority of her life working as a homemaker, raising her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Pamela Chamberlain.

She is survived by her son, Brian McGarvey; five grandchildren, Caleb and Alyssa McGarvey, Colton, Westin, and Piper Chamberlain; two siblings, Rusty Hall of Texas and Lori Harbison of Jacksonville; former husband, Daniel Daugherty, and his daughter, Tasha Daugherty Reed; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Dustin Chamberlain who she raised; and her beloved dogs, Gracie and Twinkie.

Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

The family will host a Celebration of Life from 5:00 until 10:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the New Berlin Knights of Columbus #4372, New Berlin.

Private family burial will be held at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville at a later date.
