The funeral service for Jane D. McDonald, age 60 of Lineville, will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Barfield Baptist Church with Rev. John Howell, Bro. Larry Robertson and Dr. Buddy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. McDonald passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at her home. A native and life-long Clay County resident, she was a 1975 graduate of Lineville High School. After graduation, Jane worked for the ALFA insurance agency then went on to work for Ace Products for the next 20 years. In 2001, she began to fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse and in 2006 graduated from Southern Union State Community College as a registered nurse. Mrs. McDonald first worked in the Emergency Department at the N.E. Alabama Regional Medical Center then as a school nurse for the Clay County Board of Education. She then worked in the Emergency Department at the Clay County Hospital. In 2015, she began serving as an Occupational Health Nurse at the Anniston Army Depot. Jane was a member of Barfield Baptist Church and treasured every opportunity she had to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Keith McDonald of Lineville; two sons: Josh McDonald (Heather) of Auburn and Darrell McDonald (Talona) of Jackson's Gap; one sister, Kathy Miller (Rusty) of Lineville; one brother, Elton Denson (Charlotte) of Lakeland, Florida; one sister-in-law, Ann Denson of Oxford and five grandchildren: Blakeley, Jakob, Cohan, Kiley and Cannon McDonald.
Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her parents, Lindsey Mabe Denson and Vida Maude Sims Denson and one brother, Charles Denson.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Hudson, Corey McDonald, Tim Miller, Bobby Crenshaw, David Maddox, Tyler Jennings, John McDonald and Rusty Miller. Jane's past and present co-workers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Barfield Baptist Church. Mrs. McDonald will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service time on Friday.
