James Clifton Eddins, age 80, of Beckley, WV, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born on June 23, 1937, at Hot Coal, he was the son of the late Sam Eddins and Mary Baines Eddins.

Mr. Eddins served in the United States Marine Corp, with 16 years of service. He retired as a nurse's assistant at the Beckley VA Medical Center. Mr. Eddins was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed watching TV and listening to gospel music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a sister, Beverly Eddins, and a brother, Dean Eddins

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his son, Benjamin Eddins of Beckley, and a daughter, Towanna Richards of Hampton, Virginia; two sisters, Karen Eddins of Sophia and Tanya Payne and husband, William, of Beaufort, South Carolina; a brother, Grant Eddins of Hopemont, WV; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at 2 PM with Pastor Alan Ledford officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Sunday at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
