Julia Maxine Young, age 80, of Berkeley Springs, WV, died on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born February 13, 1937 in Berkeley Springs, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Clyde and Mary Elizabeth Wills Jackson.

She was of the Presbyterian faith. She was a 1955 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School. She had worked as a waitress at Weaver’s Restaurant in Hancock, the Warm Springs Restaurant, The Park View Inn and The Country Inn, all in Berkeley Springs. She enjoyed flower gardening, shopping and was devoted to her children.

Surviving are seven children, Victoria Jean “Vicki” Young-Dobbins of Shepherdstown, WV, Tamara Elizabeth “Tammi” Hill, Timothy Edward “Timmie” Young, Jennifer Michelle “Jenny” McCoy, Brian Scott Young and Jeffrey Dean “Dean” Young, all of Berkeley Springs and Charles Kevin “Chuck” Young of Winchester, VA, three sisters, Frances “Sis” Moss of Berkeley Springs, Mary Lee Ward of Hancock and Loretta Hendershot of Cumberland, MD, one brother, Bobbie Young of Berkeley Springs, 10 grandchildren, Darek McCoy, Joshua McCoy, Walter Hill, Kate Truax, Cody Young, Morgan Young, Brooke Young, Caleb Young, Tyler Young, all of Berkeley Springs and Kelsey Young of Paw Paw, WV, seven great grandchildren, Marley McCumbee-Young, Paige Hill, Sophie Hill, Wyatt Hill, Riley Truax, Jaydyn McCoy and Khylee McCoy, all of Berkeley Springs and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward “Eddie” Young on January 16, 2018, two brothers, Junior Clyde Jackson and an infant brother..

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV with Pastor Rodney C. Truax officiating. Interment will be in Greenway Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
