PUNXSUTAWNEY – Todd Edward Butler, 46, of Punxsutawney, formerly of Curwensville, passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at DuBois Nursing Home.
He was born April 4, 1971 in Clearfield, a son of the late Alfred William Butler, Jr. and Joy Ann (Smeal) Butler.
His mother, Joy A. (Smeal) Campbell and husband Rodger, survive and reside in Big Run.
Todd was a 1992 graduate of Curwensville High School.
He was “the light of the family.” He was very social and enjoyed people, and especially liked to flirt with the ladies. He enjoyed camping, country music and dancing in his wheelchair.
During his nearly two year stay at Mulberry Square, Todd attended church more than once on Sunday, and liked to be in involved in anything that included other people.
He is survived by his mother and step father, Joy Ann Campbell and husband Rodger of Big Run; one brother, Troy Butler and wife Amy of Phillipsburg; sister, Tara Hile and husband Tommy of Woodland; and stepsister, Tara Campbell of Punxsutawney; nephews, Logan Hile, Trent and Braedon Butler, and Jaydan Campbell; nieces, Morgan Hile, Chelsea and Breanna Butler, Joie Aljoe, Ava and Lily Campbell and Mea Baker; great-nieces, Raelyn McGonigal and Brynnleigh Kephart; great-nephew, Ryder McGonigal; numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred; maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Willis Smeal; paternal grandparents, Alfred Butler, Sr. and Lois Butler; and nephew, Jordan Thomas Hile.
There will be no visitation or viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
Interment will be at Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Memorial donations may be made in Todd’s memory to the Clearfield Special Olympics, P.O. Box 72, Curwensville, PA 16833.
