Actor. Born John Albert Rascoe in Nashville, Tennessee, he was a popular character performer in 108 films, mostly during the silent era between 1915 to 1933. He was very active in the theatre, when signed to Fox Pictures and made his screen debut in "A Pound, for a Pound" (1915). His credits include "Cleopatra" (1917), "The She Devil" (1918), "Last of the Mohicans" (1920), "The Mating Call" (1928), "Danger Lights" (1930) and "The Public Defender" (1931). He died at age 46 in Los Angeles, California and was also married to actress Barbara Bedford.
