SHREVEPORT – Services for Mrs. Edwina M. Graves, 88, of Live Oak Retirement Center in Shreveport, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday February 27 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, where she was a member. The Reverend Laurence Packard, assistant rector of the church, will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Osborn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Graves, a native and lifelong resident of Shreveport, died at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday February 26, 1986, at Schumpert Medical Center after a brief illness. She was a member of a pioneer family of Caddo Parish. Mrs. Graves' father was James M. Martin, who was a U.S. Marshall at the turn of the century, and her mother was Alice Guynemer. Her husband was the late Allen O. Graves, a longtime associate with the Commercial National Bank. Her sister was the late Miss Jim Martin, who was the parish Registrar of Voters for many years. Mrs. Graves was active in church and civic affairs, having served on the Altar Guild at St. Mark's, and on the board of the Association of the Blind and the American Red Cross.
She is survived by two nephews, W. E. Wallace, Jr. of Lafayette, La. and Martin S. Wallace of Shreveport.
Pallbearers will be Charles Phillips, Walter Patterson, Pat Patterson, B. A. Rothschild, Jr., Ralph Gay, E. B. Noland, Jr., Max Edmondson and Col. Robert L. Webb.
