Mr. Daniel was born in Randolph County, Alabama on April 11, 1922 to the late Thomas Jefferson and Zella Belle Jordan Daniel. He operated a rolling store from February 1955 to April 1977. He traveled in Carroll and Heard counties thousands of miles making many friends along his route. Upon retiring his rolling store, he drove a school bus for Carroll County Schools. Not only did he transport students on routine routes, but he also drove the Bowdon High School Marching Band to many competitions and contests. From 1980 to 1989 he worked for Carroll County as a Deputy Warden. He also opened a clothing store in Bowdon named Peddler's Path for a few years. Mr. Daniel was a life-long gardener and took great pride in his gardens. He enjoyed watching sports on television, reading the newspaper and attending church. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 53 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, J.D., C.B., Curtis, Travis, and Amon Daniel; and one sister Sybil Daniel Yates.
Survivors include his wife, Florene Turner Daniel; his sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Teresa Daniel, Tommy and Denise Daniel; his daughters and sons-in-law, Nan and Jose Callejas, and Cindy and Ben Day; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Sardis Baptist Church on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.
