Elmer Lee White, 87, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at MHP Medical Center.

Born February 19, 1930 in Shelby County, he was the son of Henry Eli White and Ella Deborah (Macy) White.

He married Phyllis Jean (Krammes) White on August 11, 1957 and she survives.

Other survivors include daughter- Lisa Evans-Powers (husband Mark) of Sheridan; grandchildren Sara Akles (husband Jon), Ryan Evans (wife Michaela), and Kari Evans; great grandchildren Tucker Akles and Melanie Akles; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Thomas Franklin White , and sister Mary Warnell Winslow.

Mr. White was a lifetime resident of this area, and graduated from Manilla High School in 1947. He was co-owner of Rays Crossing Grain Company for 30 years retiring in 2000. He attended the former Manilla Christian Church and was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War.

Lee enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities and sporting events. He was a very devoted husband and his family was the center of his life.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, January 15, 2018, at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with visitation there Monday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Rev Jerri Cadwallader will officiate.

Burial will be in Manilla Cemetery. A graveside military service will be conducted by a local veterans organization.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
