She was born in Dixon, Iowa on July 14, 1926 to Mignon Drummond and Harry Strathman.
Upon graduating from University of Iowa with a degree in Liberal Arts, Donna was united in marriage to Warren Larsen. They lived in Camden, S.C., moving to Waynesboro in 1958. She taught 2nd grade and served as school librarian in Waynesboro public school before moving to Kobe, Japan with her husband and family. After returning to Waynesboro briefly she moved to Campinas, Brazil with her husband on a DuPont fiber assignment where she lived for 13 years. Returning to Waynesboro in retirement her interests included golf, gardening, reading, bird watching and the mountains of the Shenandoah Valley. She has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Waynesboro for over 50 years and the Waynesboro Garden Club. She is at peace after a long and rewarding life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Larsen; her daughter, Melinda Larsen; her sister, Janice Stender; and mother, Mignon Drummond.
She is survived by her son, Paul Warren Larsen and his wife, Kay of Hayward, Wisconsin; her daughter, Ann L. Sampson and husband, Barry of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; and her brother, Paul Strathman of Mason City, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Waynesboro on January 20, 2018 at ll am. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service.
