Violet V. (Timmons) Heintzelman-Nead, 94, of 64 Shippensburg Mobile Estates, Shippensburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Quincy Village, Quincy, PA.
Born March 7, 1923 in Mercersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Timmons.
Mrs. Nead was primarily a homemaker but was employed as a sewing machine operator at Waynesboro Knitting Mill for a number of years.
In her early life, she was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. She also was a member of Quincy United Methodist Church, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223 and Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, both of Shippensburg and National AARP.
Mrs. Nead enjoyed spending time with her beloved dog, Baby, knitting doing ceramics and crafts, gardening and traveling.
She is survived by two children, C. Dwight Heintzelman and his wife, Judy of Hagerstown, MD, Virginia R. Martin and her husband, Junior of Shippensburg; one daughter-in-law, Donna R. Nead of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Darin Heintzelman, T.R. Dewitt, Shane Martin and Dustin Nead; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Nead was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Merle C. Heintzelman, who passed away in 1956; her second husband, Elvin Dean Nead who passed away June 12, 1997; one son, Danny R. Nead; and several brothers and sisters.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro with Pastor Mike Kenney officiating. Burial will be private in Quincy Cemetery, Quincy, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Saturday morning, in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
