BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Andy's heart never left his childhood home. Those were among his happiest days and fondest memories, and the friendships forged during those years left an imprint that lasted a lifetime.

Andrew was a complex person; an enigma with a sensitive soul and good heart.

A sports enthusiast, Andy participated in football, basketball, water skiing, motorcycling, and driving racecars. As a child Andrew was often drawing pictures of cars (his obsession). He built an extensive model collection and raced slots as a preteen. Always tinkering with anything that had a motor, his passion culminated with him building his own racecars and motorcycles.

He was loyal to his family and friends, almost to a fault. Andy could easily be taken advantage of (though he would deny ever feeling this way) as he would drop everything to lend a helping hand to others in need, while never expecting anything in return. Andrew was a devoted and loving son, caring for his ailing father prior to his death in 2007, as well as tending to his mother's needs since that time.

Andy was a skilled machinist and onsite fabricator by trade. He often traveled to various work locations throughout the U.S. to include oil refineries, dams, and open-pit mining operations.

Definitely not one to take life's easier roads, Andy preferred the thrill-seeking and bumpier "scenic" routes. He had many life adventures and stories better left untold.

Andrew entered hospice care and succumbed to esophageal cancer at home with his family by his side. A private memorial service was held in May 2018 at Point Pinole near his childhood home.
