Marjorie was a 1947 graduate of Gas City High School. She retired from Irving Brothers in 1994, where she was the bookkeeper. She was a lifetime member of Gas City's First United Methodist Church and a member of First UM Women's Society and Calico Square Dancing. She was also the church's communion steward.
Marjorie enjoyed playing Euchre with her friends, going for walks, and spending time with her family. She was a loving, compassionate, and kind woman and a devoted wife of 69 years, as well as a dedicated mother and proud grandmother for several years. She will be missed dearly, especially by her family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 69 years, Donald; children, Steven J. (Susan) Barker, Gas City, Bradley E. (Cynthia) Barker, Ohio, and Julie (Jerry) Rogers, Indiana; grandchildren, Erin J. (Jim, Jr.) Richards, Joanna L. (Michael) Schnepp, Breane L. (Mark) Walter, Adam B. (Erin) Barker, Nathaniel J. (Caitlin) Barker, Lauren C. (Nicholas) Lemoine, Derek C. (Amanda) Rogers, and Shelley R. Rogers; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Lucas, Meghan, Grady, Henry, Knox, Avanelle, Emelyn, Ella, Peri, Dane, and Sophia; great-great-grandson, Karson; brothers, Herbel McClure, Jr. and Larry L. McClure; sister, Judith A. Rogers; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Marjorie was also preceded in death by her daughter, Shelley K. Barker, and brother, Robert E. McClure.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Marjorie's funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at First United Methodist Church, 213 E. S. A St., Gas City, IN. Pastor Jeff Herron will be officiating with burial following at Riverside Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
