She graduated from Southport High School and went on to earn three Bachelor’s Degrees from Ivy Tech. She retired from working as the Indianapolis City Controller’s Secretary. She had also worked at the State Board of Depositories and the MSD of Decatur Township School District. She was very devoted to her family and made everyone feel important. She loved her dogs, crafts and studying the bible.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James L. Thompson. Survivors include her children, Terri (Bobby) Melton and Tammi (Ray) Harris, sister, Marlene (Fernando) Ospina, 4 grandchildren and their spouses, 3 great-grandchildren and her dogs, Magic and Dixie.
